Path vs Linktree

Linktree does one job well: it turns the single link in your Instagram or TikTok bio into a menu of links. It takes two minutes to set up, and if all you need is a way to route followers to your latest drop, video, or storefront, it is genuinely fine at that.

The trade-off is that a Linktree page contains almost nothing about you. It is a list of buttons with your name at the top — which matters the moment someone looks for you anywhere other than your bio.

A Path profile is the opposite shape: a full page about you — your experience, projects, education, skills, and writing — server-rendered with structured data. It gives search engines (and, increasingly, AI assistants) something real to read and cite.

Path profiles hold your social links, project links, and anything else you want to point at — so you lose nothing by switching your bio link. But visitors who click through get a person, not a menu: work history, real projects with images, and writing if you publish it.

Setup is comparable to Linktree's two minutes: upload your resume PDF and Path turns it into a site in about 7 seconds.

If you are a creator whose bio link changes weekly — a new video, a merch drop, an event — and nobody is Googling your professional background, Linktree’s speed and storefront integrations serve that job better than a professional profile would. Some people sensibly use both: Linktree for the feed, Path for their name.
